Merz Construction specializes in custom home construction and renovations in Eastern Massachusetts. Incorporated in 1986, Merz Construction has a reputation for superior quality, integrity and environmental responsibility. Our collaborative approach places emphasis on the communication between the owner, architect and construction team. We build classic and contemporary homes as well as carefully integrated renovations to existing homes.

Construction documents for a home contain lots of information, but even detailed ones are missing critical data. That's where the general contractor comes in, with his personal knowledge and relationships with the owner, architect and sub-contractors. Four our new house, Jon Merz had a thorough understanding of the design intent, so the important details of design — structural, architectural millwork, building systems and finishes — were appropriate and affordable. He has exceptionally skilled employees and sub-contractors who made the home a delightful reality. Along the way, Jon and his site supervisor kept the project on schedule, delivering what he said he would deliver, and sometimes more.

We had our home in Concord renovated during the year of 2004 by Jon Merz and his team. We were extremely pleased with not only the construction process, but the end result. We had an extremely aggressive timeline, April to October, when we moved out of our house, and Jon not only was able to work within our timeline, but completed the project a week early so we could get in our home for Halloween! The attention to detail, the overall organization, excellent sub contractors and finished product were amazing. We added additional work during the construction phase that was unanticipated in the renovation and Jon seamlessly integrated it. We worked very well with Jon and his team who were always a pleasure to work with and extremely accommodating. Guests coming in our home comment on how our house renovation is well integrated into the neighborhood and the entire house feels like one.
